On 12 May, the industry came together at the Belfry for the annual KFE Dinner Dance & Golf Tournament.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our 185 guests that made it such a great event. We’d also like to give a special mention to National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year winners, Tim & Kelly Barnes, Runners Up Tony Forgione of Captain Cods and all of our suppliers, for taking the time out of their busy schedules to be there.

In true Nevada style, the sun shone down on our Las Vegas style event. Showgirls and a sax player welcomed guests, with Marilyn Monroe leading them along the red carpet to the main event.

The Vegas theme continued with a memorable rendition of ‘Little Ole Wine Drinker Me’. Marilyn and the Rat Pack were joined on stage by our MD, Paul Williams, who clearly has stage experience, not necessarily as a singer!!

Entertainment continued on until late with casino tables and a live band. Trish Cromar of The Fish Hoose in Thornton and Richard Long of Harlees in Dorset battled it out to win an incredible trip for 2 to Vegas. In a tense final Richard pipped Trish at the post to walk away with the trip. All money raised on the evening will be going directly to The Fishermen’s Mission.

The KFE event would not be complete without the traditional golf tournament. The Mini Golf was a hotly contested event with just under 40 people taking part. The wooden spoon was awarded to Sharon Devine of the Ashvale with 74 points and KFE’s very own Paul Hardiman took the top spot with 27 points.

The main Golf tournament was won by KFE South West Area Sales Manager Tom Hughes, with England and Italy being the first teams to jointly win the International trophy.

‘Without the support of our sponsors we could not possibly put together the fantastic day which remains The Fish and Chip industries NO 1 social gathering. After last year’s first visit to The Belfry the challenge was to continuously try and improve the event and amazingly Tanya and Aviy have done it again, brilliant! Looking forward to a visit to The Priory and then bring on 2020.’

Paul Williams, KFE Managing Director
