KFE on a Mission is back for 2026, bringing award-winning training directly into fish and chip shops across the UK, while raising much-needed funds for maritime charity The Fishermen’s Mission.
The three-day charity event will see 11 award-winning operators visiting shops across England, Scotland and Wales from Monday 23rd March to Wednesday 25th March, offering training in return for a donation.
The operators donating their time to take part include: Stuart Devine, Gordon Hillan, Calum Richardson, Will Burrell, Stuart Fusco, Nigel Hodgson, John Molnar, Mark Petrou, Garry Rosser, Fred Capel and Kelly Barnes. In return for a donation, these industry experts will visit participating shops to offer training, advice and hands-on support in areas operators would like to learn more about, refine or improve. All fish and chip shops and restaurants across the UK are invited to take part.
A half-day training session is available for a recommended donation of £250, with full-day sessions from £500. Larger donations are always welcome.
The event culminates in a charity fundraising dinner at the newly opened 180-seater The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack in South Queensferry, near Edinburgh, on the evening of Wednesday 25th March.
As well as giving trainers, operators and suppliers the chance to relax and share experiences across the three days, there will also be a charity auction featuring fantastic prizes including a tonne of batter mix from Middletons, 10 x 10kg of Dinaclass Curry Sauce, £200 gift voucher from Stokes Sauces and more. Every penny raised from KFE on a Mission will go directly to The Fishermen’s Mission, a charity KFE has supported for many years. The event last took place in 2019, raising £14,500 and the bar is set higher for 2026.
The initiative forms part of KFE’s 30th anniversary pledge to raise £30,000 for a range of charities.
Excited to be hosting KFE on a Mission once again, KFE Managing Director Tanya Henderson says: “2026 marks KFE’s 30th anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than by bringing back one of the industry’s biggest fundraising events?
“KFE on a Mission is a chance for the whole industry to get involved and support a charity that sits at the very heart of what we do. Without our brave fishermen, there would be no fish and chip industry.
“This initiative allows operators to gain valuable training from award-winning operators, while directly helping a vital cause. We hope to see as many people as possible at the fundraising dinner, and we’ll make sure those who can’t attend still have the chance to bid on prizes so that we can make this year even bigger!”
Tickets for the charity dinner at The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack cost £75 per person. A special accommodation rate has been negotiated with Dakota Hotel – quote KFE to receive £105 bed and breakfast (single occupancy) or £124 bed and breakfast (double occupancy).
