Middleton's breaking ground on new extensions including Qook! kitchen

We have signed an agreement with Middleton Foods to design, manufacture and install what will be one of the most high-end presentation kitchens in the UK.

Forming the central part of Middleton Foods’ £4 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Willenhall, West Midlands, the new kitchen will support product development, customer demonstrations and technical testing of its extensive range of batters, breadings and mixes.

The kitchen will feature a Qook! wall suite complete with a host of professional equipment including frying units, an Evereo Hot Fridge, combi steamers and speed ovens from Unox, multiple induction hobs, planchas and Adieu grills. The layout also includes an L-shaped pass, a dedicated wash area featuring a Winterhalter system, and ventilation delivered in partnership with Halton.

As part of the design process, KFE took key stakeholders from Middleton Foods to the QBTEC factory in the Netherlands.

Nikki Williams, Sales Director for KFE, comments: “We walked the team through a typical kitchen design using CAD models and gathered feedback from each person.

“By the next morning, QBTEC had created a virtual walkthrough video of the proposed kitchen incorporating all their suggestions. The fact that the layout has barely changed since then speaks volumes about our understanding of our clients’ needs and the quality of the design.

“The final result will give Middleton Foods one of the highest-spec presentation kitchens in the country. It’s a controlled, commercial-level environment that allows them to showcase their products exactly as fish and chip operators would use them.”

The development continues the long-standing relationship between the two companies, with Nikki adding: “We’ve worked with Middleton Foods for many years, and this project represents the next chapter. It also creates a space where customers can come and try out our fryers, our grills and our induction hobs and see firsthand their performance and build quality.”

Speaking about their partnership with KFE, Pete Moss, General Manager at Middleton Foods, comments: “We chose to work with KFE as we are aware of their reputation in providing cutting-edge equipment within our industry. Our experience with them so far on this project has demonstrated their attention to detail and professionalism. It has been a pleasure working with the entire team.”

The extension, complete with presentation kitchen, is expected to be operational by late summer 2026.
