Gijs Okkerman with KFE at Windsor Castle

On Thursday 28th September we had a wonderful night at Windsor Castle for The Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals in the presence of Sophie, HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh.

As a family, we took the opportunity of such a special event to celebrate with Gijs Okkerman and his wife Marijke, his retirement earlier this year.

Gijs and Marijke took over Kiremko, now QBTEC, in 1987, expanding rapidly throughout Europe with constant investment into the premises, workforce and machinery. KFE was formed in 1996 as the Kiremko agent for the UK and the two companies have worked closely now for over 27 years.

Our two families have become very close friends and we are forever grateful for all their hard work, dedication and support which has helped KFE to become one of the most recognised brands in the fish and chip industry.

We wish Gijs a very happy retirement and look forward to working with the next generation at QBTEC, Gijs’s son-in-law, Jeroen van Amstel, and nephew Mathieu Mulders.
