Aims of the segment

When you come to the end of this segment you will be able to:

  1. Ensure anyone working within the food industry is more aware of the issues they may face when working with food
  2. Outline the importance of why we do certain things, certain ways
  3. Understand the responsibility of individuals, and learn the safety rules for ensuring your customers come to no harm
  4. Identify the hazards there are and how we can make certain we minimize all risks
  5. Ensure you are competent in preparing the raw food, storing the food correctly, cooking the food confidently, furthermore selling your food and building a reputable, profitable business
  6. Have sound knowledge and the confidence to work within the food industry and be able to revise and successfully complete a food safety examination.
